Joseph Pilates’ path was decided early, frail as a child, he dedicated his life to understanding anatomy & foundational movement patterns to ensure optimal health for both himself and others.
Born in Germany in 1883, he moved to NYC in 1925 & continued to develop & refine what is today known as the Pilates Method.
His intentions and philosophies are outlined in his books “Return to Life through Contrology” & “Your Health: A Corrective System of Exercising that Revolutionizes the Entire Field of Physical Education”, though written decades ago, this is exactly what has come to be in the lives of both the individual practitioners of Pilates & the world.
